Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As our community continues to grow, many more demands are placed on our physical plant and thus more care is needed for the up keep of our facilities. As we all know, “sign up lists” do not work in a community where we depend on everyone to care for our facilities. How many of you have “sign-up” list for chores around your own home? My point exactly! We need here in our community, various people to take ownership of various tasks sometime called ministries. I would like to mention a number of these ministries in which we need help. Each ministry should have a leader, or contact person, who would then recruit and train others to participate and in time become the leader of that particular ministry. Like all organizations, we have a few people who do the vast majority of the work. I would like to try and change this by getting as many people involved. As the Rector of this community, I alone bear responsibility to the Bishop for the wellbeing of His mission in Atwater. The lead of each ministry does not “answer” to any one in particular – but at some level to the Rector. It would be my goal to interfere as little as possible. Please see a list of at least most of the ministries presently offered here at St. Mary Magdalene with the invitation to all of you to get involved in one of the ministries for the building up of our community.
