Another Fall is around the corner and time for Catechism classes and Adult Education. These are great opportunites for all of us to learn. Even the priest! I never pretend to be all knowing! I too continue to grow spiritually, at least that is my goal. As I prepare to teach the lessons I am reminded of basic things and continue to learn new things as well. With that said, these classes are for all of us to learn more about our faith. We learn not just intellectual concepts but ideas and concepts that allow us to live out our lived faith in a more full and rich manner.
I want to encourage everyone to take advantage of what is being offered. Baptism is one result of completing Catechism and yet Catechism is only the sping board by which we coninue a life long journey of learning about and living out our faith. If you took catechism classes many years ago when you came into Orthodoxy, I enourage everyone in that catagory to take our Catechism classes presently offered. Everyone is allowed to attend Catechism. Of course Catechumens are required to take the Catechism class.
The Adult Education class is open to absolutely everyone. I invite the catechumens to participate in adult education claasses. The Fall Session we are studying the Divine Liturgy. The Winter Session will feature the Book of Isaiah and the Spring Session we will read two books from St. John Chrysostom.
