Great Lent Confessions – Everyone, whether you confess regularly or only once per year, will need to make a confession during the Lenten season. I am giving a time window from Sunday of Zacchaeus to Friday April 3rd. Please avail yourself to this huge window to make a confession as part of our season of repentance.
Parking Lot Improvement – in preparation for Palm Sunday, Holy Friday and Pascha, the back small stairs and one parking spaces off the back stairs has been painted fluorescent yellow for safety during our processions. We will also be fixing the very wide gap in the pavement. Please DO NOT park in that space during the above mentioned services. Thank you to Reader Steven Brown!
Baptisms and Chrismations this year will take place April 4th (Lazarus Saturday) – ½ of our baptisms. April 5th (Palm Sunday during Divine Liturgy, all Chrismations), and April 11th (Holy Saturday) at 10am the other ½ of our Baptisms. Exciting time for our catechumens and indeed our entire community.
Assembling the Palm Bouquets
Wednesday April 1st at 1:00pm at the Church Hall – Kathy Anderson will lead a group putting together the Palm Sunday Bouquets. All are welcome to participate. We will need to make many more than we have in the past – thanks to the Holy Spirit!
Flowers for Pascha – As many of you are aware, flowers are very expensive! We want to make Pascha a grand celebration in part by decorating our church with Easter Lilies and decorating our iconostasis. Please contribute funds to the flower box in the Hall or give your contribution to Diane Holmes. You may also donate online, visit our Online Give page and select Flowers as the fundung.
Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to help decorate the Church following the Royal Hours of Pascha on Friday April 10th.
Church Camp Collection – will take place as we bless the Gus Killiveros fish dinner. We are raising funds to defray the cost for our counselor volunteers. To donate, visit our Online Give page and select Church Camp as the fundung.
Agape Meal on Pascha will be at 2:00pm. The Church will provide the hamburgers and hot dogs. We are asking for everyone to bring a small side dishes to go along with the BBQ.
The feast of the Annunciation March 25th – the Vesperal Divine Liturgy has been moved up to 6:00pm. Fish is allowed on the Annunciation. We will NOT be having a fish dinner at the hall this year. Please fast from at least 12 noon on to receive Holy Communion. Have fish ready to go (to warm up) when you get home from the Liturgy! Enjoy the Feast!
Receipt of donations for taxes – please ask Jason Batson (treasurer) if you would like to have one for taxes.
Parish Photo Project – Lydia Acton is leading an effort to organize our many parish photos and archives. Please let her know if you are interested in helping.
Small Storage Shed out back gets broken into at will by anyone. Please encourage parish council members to have that torn down so that we can avoid future break-ins and bad activity around our church property.
Next Church Projects – we will be designing and getting a beautiful counter made for the narthex that matches our existing furniture. I am also hoping to remove many of the pews prior to Great and Pascha 2027 to accommodate our growth and proper Orthodox Worship.
April Schedule is out (download below) so everyone can plan accordingly for the very busy month.
