I want to thank everyone who contributed to Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry!

We raised over $520.00! A meaningful gift for one of our more meaningful ministries in the Church. Thank you and thank you again!

Special Prayers needed for Lucas Doiel as he continue to have problems with his rods that are supporting his back. He is in much pain and all prayers will be helpful. Please also keep Reader Mark and Kristine in your prayers. They will keep us in the loop regarding Lucas’ health and probable surgery.

Prosphora Baking – we are on the lookout for baking talent. We are looking for a few good prosphora bakers who will commit to baking the church bread. Please see Fr. Lawrence for details. We have just graduated Richele Red as one of our new Prosphora bakers!

Website Help – we are still looking! Having a good website is very important in getting the word out about our community. If you have photos from our feast day, please send them onto Nick Tamraz. Nick could use help managing the website.

 Library – I have not emphasized the library policy except but once when we first established the library. In the forth coming Mission Handbook we will outline the library policy. Diane Holmes is the librarian and should be consulted as to what is being donated. There are a number of books that I would not consider appropriate for our library. If materials are just deposited without consulting with our librarian then we reserved the right to find an alternate home for such items! Also, please do not donate Bibles! Honestly, who goes to a library and checks pout a bible? Bible are personal. So please consider any bible in the library to be yours if you would like it! Questions please speak with Diane or Fr. Catechism and Adult Education

Catechism class will being Saturday Sept 12 in the Church Hall from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. The class is open to everyone in the community and I would certainly encourage everyone in the community to take it. All Catechumens must take the class! We will be reading Fr. Thomas Hopko’s four volume series called the Orthodox Faith, for us older people the “rainbow series.”  We have order ten (10) sets and will be available in the book store – very soon!

The Fall Term for Adult Education will begin on Wednesday Sept 2 in the church hall starting at 6:00pm and ending at 7:15pm. We will be studying the Sanctification of Time. Everyone in the community is encouraged to participate. Catechumens are permitted to take the course as well as their catechumen course.

The Sanctification of Time course is a six (6) week course that runs from September 2nd to October 14th.
